New Employee Orientation


New Employee Orientation is assigned automatically and available on your start date in Bridge. New employees are encouraged to finish within 90 days before the training is removed. You will learn about the University of Utah, information security, sustainability, how to address discrimination and misconduct, safety on campus, benefits (if applicable) and more.

  • Compliance Training

    Compliance training that is required for your department will be assigned or accessed in ULearn. Reach out to your department for additional onboarding and compliance training specific to your position.

  • University Information System (UIT)

    University Information Technology, or UIT is available to help you understand the many digital resources you may need.

  • Campus Information System (CIS)

    Campus Information System, or CIS is a centralized hub where you can access many University resources, tools and systems.

      • Log in to cis.utah.edu for the first time using the university ID (UNID) and default password (which is your birthday in MMDDYY format) included in your welcome email.
      • Update password by going to the “Employee” section and then select “Change Your Password”
      • Update personal information, such as ethnic groups, veteran status and disability status by going to the “Employee” section and then select "Change Bio/Demo Info"
      • Update your notification preferences for campus alerts by going to “Campus Alert”
  • UCard, or your University ID can be created with UCard Services. This will be how you access many benefits such as campus store discounts, building access, library privileges, riding UTA and more.

  • Parking Information

    Parking Information is available with Commuter Services such as buying a permit, rideshare, short term parking and more.

New Employee FAQ's


  • Your uID, or University ID is an 8 digit number unique to you. Your unID replaces the first number of the uID with a u. Most services will want your unID (ex. u0123456)

  • Login to Campus Information Services (CIS), in the search box enter “W2”, select “W-2/W-2c Consent”

      • @theU is the University’s weekly email for campus news, upcoming events and more. It will be sent to your UMail automatically.
      • Emergency and safety alerts can be turned on in Campus Information Services (CIS), in the search box enter “alert”, select “Campus Alert”
  • The University of Utah Regulations Library has all of the University’s policies in one place.
