For the majority of employees, the University contributes an amount equal to 14.2% of pay to a 401(a) Retirement Plan. If you previously worked for the University and were enrolled in a URS plan, Utah law requires that you be reenrolled in the same URS plan upon rehire. If you were enrolled in a URS plan with another employer, you may elect to enroll in the same URS plan if you contact HR at AskHR@utah.edu before your first paycheck. Only employees who are residents of the United States and those holding H-1B Visas are eligible for retirement benefits. Employees in the URS plan hired (or with previous URS credit) prior to July 1, 2011 are enrolled in the Tier 1 plan. If you were hired after July 1, 2011 select the Tier 2 plan.
