NEW POSITIONS
A new position is one that will be used for the first time in a department. It is not a position that is being vacated by a previous employee. The necessary information must be sent to Human Resources for review prior to the posting of the position.
RECLASSIFICATIONS
A reclassification occurs when the duties of a position no longer correspond to the duties indicated on the job description maintained by Human Resources. The appropriate documents must be completed and sent to Human Resources to initiate a potential reclassification action.
Responsible for submitting the appropriate paperwork to Human Resources and for working with Human Resources to establish the appropriate job title and salary grade for the position.
Responsible for working with the department to establish an appropriate job title and salary grade for each new position. May meet with the incumbent and/or the supervisor to discuss the duties and responsibilities of the position.
Responsible for completing the necessary questionnaire and additional paperwork as requested. May be responsible for meeting with Human Resources to discuss the duties and responsibilities of the position.
