Conditions of Services
We make every effort to assist accompanying partners of new faculty and staff who are seeking employment, our services will be governed by the following conditions:
- assistance may in no way interfere with or compromise the integrity of the University’s normal hiring policies and practices
- assistance remains in compliance with all affirmative action and equal employment opportunity requirements
- assistance will be provided regardless of the rank, classification, or function of the faculty or staff member requesting assistance, as long as that person meets the requirements
- assistance is not necessarily a guarantee or a promise of employment
- assistance will be available to the accompanying partner of new faculty or staff who meet the requirements
Services
The Dual Career Resources Coordinator will help the accompanying spouse or partner of a new employee,
- establish a network of contacts;
- identify work openings;
- establish relationships with possible employers;
- provide contacts for the relocation process if needed; and
- refer recruiting department to the Office of the Associate VP for Diversity, in cases when providing temporary funding may allow a partner to obtain a position at the University.
Terms of Services
- Employment services will be provided for one year from when the accompanying partner meets with the Dual Career Resources Coordinator.
- Employment services will end upon the accompanying partner's acceptance of a full-time position even if the one year has not been reached.
- Assistance is not necessarily a guarantee or a promise of employment.
